Big Idea 4

This group of birds represents a population of that species.  They are the only group of that species of birds in the area and they are capable of interbreeding which is the definition of a population.
Although this tiger is not currently feasting on any prey, it is an example of an organism that practices predation.  Predation is a biological interaction where a predator feeds on its prey.
The kernels on corn are examples of endosperms.  Endosperms are the tissues produced inside the seeds of most flowering plants.
This jaguar is an example of a keystone species.  Keystone species keep the population stable using different methods.  The jaguar does this using its widely varied diet.
Humans are an example of a k-strategist species.  They have long juvenile periods, longer life expectancy, and more parental involvement.  (I forgot to put the coin in this one, but I promise I took this picture.)
These rotting leaves would be a good food source for a detritivore.  Detritivores eat decomposing plant and animal material.
Biomes are large regions with similar environmental characteristics.  Here, there are pictures of aquatic, desert, jungle, and swamp biomes. (Some pictures here are reused but they are highlighting different aspects of the picture).
