Big Idea 1

#3 Adaptation of a Plant : This plant has small thorns to keep away predators which has adapted because of it's environment.

#10 Arthropod : This is an ant which is an arthropod because it is an invertebrate.

#4 Amniotic egg:   This egg is amniotic because it comes from a chicken and it has a yolk.

#6 Angiosperm: This is a flower which is an angiosperm because the seeds are in the flower.

#8 Arachnid: This is a spider, which is an arachnid because it has four pairs of segmented legs with a body with two parts.

#13 byrophytes: This plant is a byrophyte because it has no seeds.

#11 artificial selection; This mandarin was artificially selected to not have seeds.

#12 bilateral symmetry: Half of my body is almost identical to the other half making it bilaterally symmetrical.

#14 chordate: My dog is a chordate because she has a backbone.

#20 Fungi;  Mushrooms are a type of fungi.

#22 genetic variation: some of the flowers are orange the other are white because of its genetic variation in the color gene.

#24 gymnosperm cone: These cones carry seeds in side which makes them gymnosperm.

#25 gymnosperm leaf: This leaf is gymnosperm because seeds develop on the leaves.

#28 Modified leaf of a plant:  This leaf has been modified to be long and go down to catch more water.

#37 radial symmetry: The flower has radial symmetry because it has a center point with an arrangement in this case leaves around it.

#29 modified root of a plant: The roots were modified by coming out of the soil to get water easier.

#30 modified stem of a plant: The stem grew much taller to avoid smaller predators.

#40 unicellular organism: The bacteria growing on the hummus is a unicellular organism.

#39 tetrapod: My dog is a tetrapod because she has four legs.

#41 vestigial structure: The wisdom tooth is no longer needed so it's vestigial.
