Big Idea 1, first 10 pictures

Big Idea 1

, Adaption of an Animal, this bird represents adaptations because its legs have scales and its beak is curved. The scaly legs make it harder for predators to attack and the curved beak allows for it to break down small animals easily, as seen by it chewing a small mouse.

, Adaption of a plant, These berries represent adaptations because they are highly poisonous, so when an animal eats it once and becomes ill, it wont eat it again.

, Angiosperm. This yellow plant is an angiosperm because it has flowers. The flowers allow for seeds to grow inside an enclosed area before actually budding open.

, Arachnid, in this photo, there is a spider web that has trapped a fly surrounding the lantern light. the spider lays the web and uses it as a method to trap food and also a place to stay.

, Arthropod, this barely visible mosquito trapped in a spiders web represents an Arthropod because arthropods are invertebrates having an exoskeleton made of chitin.

, Artificial Selection, this is my friends dog who is a rat terrier. This symbolizes artificial selection because humans breed dogs in a certain manner to achieve desired outcomes. another example would be race dogs or pugs, which are special breeds humans made.

, Bilateral Symmetry, this leaf represents bilateral symmetry because its left and right halves are identical.

, Bryophytes, this moss on a stone is an example of Bryophytes. it is a bryophyte because it is nonvascular, meaning it does not have vessels to carry water and nutrients around the cell.

, Chordate, This picture of a sleeping Red Panda represents a chordate because it has a spine.

, Gymnosperm cone, this pinecone is an example of a gymnosperm cone because it came from a pine tree, which is a gymnosperm.
