Big Idea 4, #14. Organisms on different levels of the same food chain. A food chain is a succession of organisms dependent on each other for food. The grass, antelope, and lions in these 3 pictures are all on the same chain. The antelope depends on the grass for nourishment. The lions depend on the antelope to feed themselves and their pride.
