Big Idea 3, Phenotype
These red and gold guppies are examples of different phenotype. A phenotype is the visible trait of a certain gene or more specifically a certain allele. This can have different traits for instance the different color of these fish.

Big Idea 3, Eukaryote
This reptilian snake is an example of a eukaryote. A eukaryote is any organism whose nucleus is bound by a nuclear membrane unlike prokaryotes whose DNA is free floating.

Big Idea 3, Diploid
These mice are examples of an organism that has diploid cells or has 2 sets of homologous chromosomes. Once a zygote is formed the cell is then diploid and these mice have clearly grown past a zygote however are still nontheless diploid.

Big Idea 3, Mitosis
This plant is an example of mitosis because everyday some of its cells go through it in order to create new cells. mitosis is the process in which cells undergo division.

Big Idea 3, Meiosis
This seagull is an example of meiosis because even though it might not necessarily be occurring in it right now the animal at one point will have some of its cells undergo meiosis in order to create haploid gametes.

Big Idea 1, Seedless vascular plant
This small fern is an example of a seedless vascular plant. It is because this plant contains a xylem and phloem however doesn't produce seeds rather it goes through stages of being a gametophyte or a sporophyte.

Big Idea 1, Unicellular Organism
This package of yeast is an example of a unicellular organism because the yeast cells inside it only consist of one cell.

Big Idea 3 Haploid
This container of caviar is an example of a haploid cell because after the fish they came from underwent meiosis the cell it created were haploid. So in turn these eggs are as well haploid meaning that they contain only one set of chromosomes.
Big Idea 3, Genetically Modified Organism
This red  tomato is an example of a GMO because agricultural scientists have engineered some plants for specific traits such as those that act as pesticides or make it look more appealing in some way.

Big Idea 1 Organisms in different phyla (chordata)
This turtle is an example of a chordate or an animal that has a dorsal spinal column and a post anal tail.

Big Idea 1 different animal phylum (arthropoda)
This insect is an example of an animal whose phylum is different from a chordate. An arthropod is any animal that an exoskeleton and segmented legs.

Big Idea 4, R strategist
These frogs are examples of R strategist organisms because they spend most of their energy when creating offspring trying to make quantity for parenthood instead of quality. Meaning that they create hundreds or offspring at one time.

Big Idea 4 k strategist
These birds are examples of K strategists because when they reproduce they strive for quality not quantity. Meaning that these birds will create 1 or 2 eggs and try to raise that instead of creating hundreds and hoping that a few survive.

Big Idea 4 pioneer species
This plant in it of itself is not necessarily a pioneer species because it isn't truly the first organism to be in this are environment it just happens to be the farthest out on the river. It is however reminiscent of one because similar to a pioneer species it goes into a new territory because it is the first to colonize this area.
