Big Idea 1, #11. Artificial Selection. Artificial selection is intentional breeding for certain traits. My dog, a golden retriever, is a prime example of this. Her breed was bred for its abilities in swimming after  water fowl because of their webbed feet. They also have good temperaments and make good family pets, another desirable trait.
