56-60

This is a phenotype(Bid Idea 3 #17).  Phenotype is its set of observable characteristics based on the genotype(genetic make up) of an organism. These red roses have a red phenotype, but some roses can be white having a different appearance than these red roses. The genotype affects the phenotype.

This plant is a eukaryote(Big Idea 3 #3). This is a blueberry bush.  The main distinguishing factor is the fact that they have nuclear bound DNA and a nuclear membrane. This separates them from the much less advanced prokaryotes. This bush is more advanced and has more advanced cellular structure than a bacteria.

This pictures shows a population(Big Idea 4 #17). This is the American River. Some species that make up the population of the American River are birds, frogs, snakes, geese, and plants just to name a few. The population of any places is the organisms that make up the area. The American River has a different population from the mountains of Russia for instance.

This bird is an example of a K strategist(Big Idea 4 #11). This bird is a good example because the amount of offspring is low but the lifespan of the bird in long. These animals tend to have more parental care when they are young and live longer. K strategists also are able to compete with other organisms in their area.
This weed growth is an example of an R stragetist(Big Idea 4 #19). The frogs along the river are an example. R strategists have a large amount of offspring but a shorter life span. There is very little care for the young and the young are able to reproduce quickly. Rapid growth is their main goal.
