Big Idea 2-12


12) Ectothermy- an organism that maintains its body temperature by absorbing heat from its environment. This is an image of a mountain horned lizard, a reptile. Reptiles, fish, and amphibians are ectothermic vertebrates. They regulate their body temperature based on the temperature of their surroundings.
