2. Biological Magnification is the magnification of pesticide or other possibly harmful material in a food chain. Although a herbivore may eat only a little of the harmful material, if the predator eats a lot of the herbivores with the harmful material, a large build up can occur in the predator, and so forth if the secondary predator eats the first. This Carolina Jasmine/Jessamine has pesticides and is the beginning of biological magnification.
