Big Idea 2-9
Chitin is a long-chain polymer of a N-acetylglucosamine, a derivative of glucose. Otherwise, it is a modified polysaccharide with nitrogen. Like these crickets, chitin makes up the strength of an arthropod's exoskeleton.
