8) Endosperm- the tissue that surrounds an embryo in flowering plants and provides it with nutrition. An apple  tree is an angiosperm plant, so its seeds would also be surrounded by the endosperm. So would cacti, sunflowers, mango, and some other plants that bear fruit.
