Big Idea 2


19. heterotroph: A heterotroph is an organism that cannot create its own nutritional requirements. Therefore, a heterotroph has to depend on other complex organic substances in order to satisfy its own nutritional requirements. The Black and White Ruffed Lemur in the photo is mainly a frugivore and as such consumes fruits in order to gain the necessary nutritional requirements.
