5. Calvin Cycle: The Calvin cycle is used for carbon fixation. The Calvin cycle converts inorganic carbon from the CO2 and changes it into an organix compound, glucose and at the same time releases oxygen. The glucose can then be used by the heterotrophs who build their own carbon structure using the glucose. The Calvin cycle is divided into three stages: carbon fixation, reduction, and regeneration of RuBP. The palm tree in the photo is a plant that takes in carbon dioxide and release oxygen via the Calvin Cycle.
