36. transpiration: Transpiration is when the water is carried from the ground to the higher parts of the plants. Once the water reaches the leaves, it leaves the leaves in the form of water vapor. Plants transpire in order to move the nutrient-rich water from the ground, throughout the plant. The camellia bush in the picture also transpires in order to receive nutrients.
