Big Idea 1



39. Tetrapod: A tetrapod is any animal that has four legs. The donkey in this picture has four legs, therefore one of its classifications is a tetrapod.
                                

11. Artificial Selection: Artificial selection is when humans breed animals for particular traits, including domestication. The dog in this picture, a doberman, was domesticated and bred in order to be a guard dog.


37. Radial Symmetry: Radial symmetry pertains to animals that have a balanced amount of duplicate body parts. Also, they can have a pattern of reflection. The sea star in this picture has a balanced symmetry and is reflected if it is folded.


38. Seedless Vascular Plant: A seedless vascular plant produces from spores. They do not have seeds or flowers. The fern in this picture has all the qualities of ferns, which also include possessing fiddleheads.


14. Chordate: A Chordate possesses a notochord and a post - anal tail. They have a backbone which accounts for their general structure. This deer has a backbone and a post - anal tail, therefore it is a chordate.
