5. haploid: a cell with only one set of each chromosome. This can be expressed as 1n or just n. Haploids are usually in the form of unfertilized sex cells. As you can see stormtrooper is being crushed by a giant egg! This egg is haploid because it has not been fertilized. If it was then a little chick would be pecking stormtroopers eyes out! When it isnt fertilized the egg is 1n or only one set of chromosomes therefore it is haploid.
