Big Idea 1


12. bryophytes (non-vascular plants): Non-vascular plants are plants that do not have a vascular system (xylem and phloem). A vascular system is a system that moves water and nutrients internally. Non-vascular plants lack a xylem, phloem, roots, stems, and leaves and instead relies on its small size and specialized tissue for internal transport of water. The lichen that is situated on the branch are non-vascular plants.
