8. pioneer species: these are species that inhabited the early stages of a system. Many pioneer species still exist today and have evolved to be stronger than all the rest. Isopods have proved that they are more evolved and stronger than the rest. They have lived on planet Earth since prehistoric dinosaur times. Isopods are most definitely a pioneer species.
