4. gamete: a male or female sex cell that is haploid. When two gametes come together they form a zygote which grows to be a new organism. Here you can see that stormtrooper stumbled upon an egg bearing rock crab! this was his most exciting find yet! On her belly you can see many bunches of eggs. These eggs are called gametes because they are all female sex cells. I am assuming some of these eggs are fertilized and some are not. This means that some are haploid and some are diploid.
