19. territorial behavior: the act of protecting and utilizing a certain area that proves advantageous to surviving and reproducing. Often violent behaviors result from territorial behavior. Canadian geese are often very territorial and will attack any intruder violently when entering their territory. On a stroll one day I encountered an angry goose and was bitten. I only found after about two weeks that i had stepped to close to her nest filled with eggs.
