42-46

This is an example of bilateral symmetry(Big Idea 1 #12).  Bilateral Symmetry is when a central line divides two identical halves of an organism. This clam  as you can see could be split at the opening and the inside of the shell is identical on both sides. This does an excellent job of demonstrating bilateral symmetry.

This is an example of an arthropod(Big Idea 1 #10). An arthropod has is an invertebrate wits an exoskeleton, segments in the body, and appendages. The part of a crab demonstrates a great example. The crab as it hard external shell, segments in its shell, and legs(appendages). The crab is a very common example so other are centipedes, and some sea spiders.

This is an example of a lichen (Big Idea 1 #27).  A lichen is a fungus that has a symbiotic relationship  with a photosynthetic part.  The photosynthetic part in this case it is algae. it provides the fungus with sugars from photosynthesis. the fungus gives the tree water and nutrients.

This is an example of a detritivore(Big Idea 4 #7). Detritivores are organisms that by eating non living organisms get their energy and nutrients. Fecal matter is an example of what they might eat. Detritivores act as the decomposer of the ecosystem and play a vital role.

This is an example of a unicellular organism (Big Idea 1 #40).  They are composed of only one cell. This small pond shows a unicellular organism because  they are within the pond. Theses organisms are very small and are the lowest type of organism (below multicellular organisms (humans)).  Organisms like algae and amoebas are examples that would live in this pond.
