Big Idea 3

16. Phenotype - The phenotype of an organism is the outward appearance of it. The traits seen are a product of the genes, however the phenotype and genotype of an organism may vary, such as a heterozygous haired person may look like a homozygous person but is really note. This example can be applied to the tomato. For example, tomatoes can be bred to be small or large, and as seen, the tomato is small, which is its phenotype.

19. Eubacteria - Eubacteria is a type of bacteria family that can be gram positive or negative, motile or non-motile, and have a rigid cell wall. Yogurt is a dairy product that comes from fermented milk. The milk is left to sit with bacteria that eat away some parts of the milk until a yogurt is left. One type of bacteria used in this process in Lactobacillus, which is a gram positive, anaerobic bacteria, which falls in the eubacteria family.

13. Bryophytes - Bryophytes are nonvascular plants, meaning they do not have a method of transporting fluids. This means that bryophytes must live in damp places, like where moss is found. Moss is a bryophyte through its lack of a vascular system.
